The opening titles had to capture the liveliness, ferocity, vibrancy, and Cabramatta-ness of the film.
2008 was a special time for Timothy Ly and Rumble Pictures, who created the action fun filled kung fu extravaganza Maximum Choppage. But what made the film so special was that it gathered momentum from the community with countless volunteers giving their time to help out with whatever needed to be done, whether it was helping out with the filming, animating opening titles or producing the film’s score. It was also a special project because it was filmed on locations around Cabramatta—a place where most of our friends and family grew up.
Where are they now? Tim, Maria and co. have all branched off doing their own thing. Their latest collaboration is a TV show based on Maximum Choppage for the ABC with comedian Lawrence Leung.
